Cleopatra? Ich nehme sie dir ab auf diesen beiden Bildern, und deine Version ist sinnlicher als alles, was ich von Cleopatra bisher in irgendwelchen Filmen gesehen habe. Ich meine, ich weiß nichts von ihr; der Name ist Legende und dazu geeignet, eine Menge Bilder vor unserem inneren Auge ablaufen zu lassen. Aber vielleicht war Cleopatra in manchen Stunden ja ein bisschen wie du, nicht nur Königin und Göttin, sondern in erster Linie Frau, und in diesem warmen Licht war sie vielleicht ähnlich verführerisch, ähnlich sexy wie du, und mir fällt es schwer, den Film, den ich jetzt für mich drehe, jugendfrei bleiben zu lassen.
